Manitoba Whitewater Club

Please be advised that the parking lot at Pan Am is patrolled by the City of Winnipeg, and all pool users must park in the main parking lot. Parking near the back door or along the side of the building requires a permit, and leaving your vehicle there puts you at risk for a pricey ticket.

Please feel free to drive right up to drop off your boats & gear, but do move your car back to the main lot before hopping in the pool.

Also - when placing your boat on the pool deck, please be sure to leave the entryway & aisles clear (place boats at the end of the pool, not along the side).

Thanks to all who attended the Annual General Meeting before our first pool session on November 16! It was great to see all of your familiar faces, and some new-comers as well! The topics were broad & included a report from last year, and some planning for the coming year. The new Board of Directors was elected, and you might notice some changes in the posted positions - the group voted on some amendments to our MWC constitution. Here is the team that will be leading the charge this year:

Thank you to all who volunteered on the Board last year: Evan Macdonald, Renaud Lafond, Jim Michie, Lauren LaBossiere, Brooke Dmytriw, Cam Meuckon, and Breanne Reinfort. Thanks to our pool committee - Jon Hopkins & Paul Fields, and our unofficial consultants - Mick Lautt & Jamie Hilland. It's the hard work of these volunteers that keep our club afloat (bad pun intended).

And thanks to all our members for a great season in 2008-2009. We're looking forward to an awesome year ahead! See you at the pool!

Hello fellow paddlers!

Well it sounds like some of you are heading out to hit the waves again this week... and I hope you're bringing your cameras! We are looking for some new photos to refresh our MWC webpage, and I hope some of you MWC members can help. If you have a few shots of you & your crew at local playspots, or some PG-rated pics of ShinDigggg shenanigans that you're willing to share in the format of a Photo Album here on the site, please send 'em my way.

Meet Market Adventures will be joining us at the pool again for a special Intro to Kayaking Clinic. Instructors TBA. Registration available through MMA.

Pool is booked for another event, so there will not be a pool session.

Join the Manitoba Whitewater Club for our annual festival at Cook's. Stay tuned to the MWC website for registration information, or ask one of the club's executive members at the pool. Hope to see you there for some food, fun, and festivities... and of course some paddling!

We will be joined by a group from Meet Market Adventures for a special Intro to WW Kayaking taught by the MWC's own Renaud & Lauren.

Pan Am is closed on Monday, April 13th because of the holiday weekend. Part 2 of the Flat & Fancy Series was slated for this night & will be rescheduled. All registered participants will receive a notification from Renaud with the new date.
