Where: Pan Am Pool

When: Monday nights, 8:30 to 10:30 pm; November to May

Who: Anyone! We love new paddlers! The pool is frequently full of playboats, C1s, and sea kayaks.

How much: $10 drop-in fee per night
Pool session packages available (see pool committee)

What: An opportunity to build your skills and have a good time with other paddlers during the off-season. Keep your eye out for kayak games and kayak polo. Typical pool sessions do not include formal instruction.

Back for the second year!! In partnership, WAV Paddling instructional school and the Manitoba Whitewater Club offer pool clinics to club members! The response last year was fantastic. (see the list of clinics offered below)

Why: Why? Why not! It’s great for you – friendly people, exercise, working on paddling skills… Whatever your reason, come on out!

We've a few requests from the pool coordinator that are to be passed on to all members. It is mandatory that as you enter the pool area boats are kept clear of the deck for any pool staff. They are occasionally moving large cabinets etc and require a clear walkway. We can neatly stack boats at the end of pool, but not on the side. All boats must be clean before entering the pool. There is a hose on deck if need be. We must clear the pool by 10:30 and leave the premises as quickly as possible. It should also be noted that there is to be no use of unauthorized equipment (ie. platforms or swinging ropes, etc).
Parking anywhere other than in the designated lot is not recommended as the Commissioner is known to make random visits and tickets are quite pricey.

Prices for club membership and pool fees are:
Individual drop in rate (subject to change): $10/session
Full season Rate effective immediately: $140
Half season Rate effective Jan 2009: $100

There is a mandatory annual $10 Membership fee payable upon your first visit. This fee is included in the full year package. Payment can be made at the pool between 8:30 & 9:00 PM (at the start of the pool session). All paddlers must SIGN IN before entering the pool.

There is a potential for 23 pool sessions.
Dates (subject to change) are:

November: 16, 23, 30
December: 7, 14
January: 11, 18, 25
February: 1, 8, 15, 22
March: 1, 8, 15, 22, 29
April: 5, 12, 19, 26
May: 3, 10

We will require volunteers to handle money, accept waivers and welcome mew members. This job is necessary and can be shared by multiple people. Please email llabossiere@mbwhitewaterclub.ca if you are able to help out. You would be asked to sit at the desk for approximately the first 20-25 minutes of the session.

Rental gear is available from Wilderness Supply and Mountain Equipment Co-op. You are required to transport the equipment yourself. The MWC has 2 loaner boats. Contact us if you're interested.
